Recording a CONNECTICUT Release of Lien in Norwalk, CT

By September 10, 2019No Comments

Our TRADITION LIEN SERVICE division recently recorded a CONNECTICUT Release of Lien for a previously recorded construction lien that a demolition company used TRADITION LIEN SERVICE to record against a residence within the Town of Norwalk, CT. According to Wikipedia, in 1853, the first ever train disaster in the United States happened over the Norwalk River.

CONNECTICUT construction liens are recorded in the specific Town, rather than by the County, that the construction related improvement is located at. The Norwalk Town Clerk’s Office requires the entire legal property description from the deed “Schedule A” to be included with the lien. A copy can only be purchased by visiting the Norwalk Town Clerk’s Office at 125 East Avenue, Room 102, Norwalk, CT 06851-5125.

Out of state business checks are accepted for payment. Fees totaled $69.00 for a two page construction lien (Page 1 lien + Schedule A + $4.00 for official copies to returned with self addressed stamped envelope). The lien was recorded by mail, with same day for recording once it was received. The mailing back of the recorded lien was one week after recording.
