A national roofing company who was not paid after providing a new roof on a residence asked our TRADITION LIEN SERVICE division to record a NEBRASKA Construction Lien on a home in Bellevue, NE within Sarpy county. According to Wikipedia, Sarpy county was explored in 1805 by the Lewis and Clark expedition following the Louisiana Purchase of 1803 by the United States, this area was settled by European-American fur traders, adventurers, farmers, and finally, entrepreneurs.

On private Existing Residential projects NEBRASKA Revised Statutes § 52-147 mandates that General/ Prime Contractors and Subcontractors record a notarized NEBRASKA Construction Lien within one hundred twenty (120) days after the completion of furnishing equipment, labor, materials or services for a construction related improvement. The lien should be recorded with the Register Of Deeds office in the county where the improved property is located. Cost to record a lien with the Sarpy County Register of Deeds is $10 for the first page, and $6 for each additional page.

Claimants who recorded a lien have up to two (2) years from the date the original NEBRASKA Construction Lien was recorded to file a foreclosure lawsuit against the improved property.
