On private Commercial projects if the General/Prime Contractor files a NORTH CAROLINA Notice Of Contract, Subcontractors must login to LiensNC and record a Notice To Lien Agent for the project within the first fifteen (15) days of providing equipment, labor, materials or services for a registered project.

NORTH CAROLINA General Statutes § 44A-23 mandate that a General/Prime contractor can record a NORTH CAROLINA Notice Of Contract within thirty (30) days of a building permit being issued. It is recorded at the Office Of The Clerk Of The Superior Court where the property to be improved is located.
